Monk fish is known as the poor mans lobster because the meat is so like lobster in consistancy and taste. This Monk Fish Thermidor is amazingly delicious and your dinner guests will agree~
Recipe Ingredients:
1 pound fresh monk fish
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1/4 pound guda cheese, grated
3 tablespoons lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place monk fish in the bottom of a 2 quart casserole dish and pour cream over fish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake for 30 minutes. While the monk fish is baking melt your butter and place in a medium bowl. Add flour and mix well. When fish is done baking pour off the hot cream into the bowl with the melted butter and flour mixture then add cheese and mix well until melted. Add lemon juice and mix well then pour mixture over cooked monk fish. Brown for 4 minutes under broiler and serve.
