Marylander’s have a taste for Italian and some great dishes have come from the Chesapeake Bay area to sooth those Italian tastes. Linguine with Shrimp Sauce is one of those dishes and it is sure to be a family favorite of yours as well.

Recipe Ingredients:

1 pound fresh shrimp

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

2 large cans od tomatoes, chopped with juice

1 cup mushrooms, chopped

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 Tablespoon basil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup parsley, minced

1 dash cayenne pepper

12 ounces of linguine or angel hair pasta, cooked

1/2 cup pitted black olives, sliced

In a medium saucepan heat oil and saute onion and garlic. Add in chopped tomatoes with juice, black pepper, cayenne pepper, basil and salt.  Bring mixture to a boil then reduce and let simmer for 5 minutes. Add shrimp and continue to simmer for a firther 10 minutes. Serve the sauce over your pasta sprinkling parsley and olives over top.
